Weekend games

Filed under: Uncategorized — leonuvm @ 4:34 pm

So this weekend was a typical Vermont fall day, relatively nice out but super chilly. I checked out a couple of games this weekend and both were pretty exciting.

I made it over to Men’s Rugby a little late for the main game but got a chance to watch the B-side game of younger players and those less experienced. This was great! While not quite as crisp as their A-side counterparts, there were some huge tackles and a few other outstanding plays which certainly bodes well for the future.

The next day, equally as chilly, donning my mittens for the first time this year, I caught about a half hour of Field Hockey. This game was great because it was one of those where as a spectator you could tell how important it was to the people on the field. UVM was playing Northeastern, the defending national champions. Down 1-0 UVM was pushing for a goal and were egged on by a small but really boisterous crowd! Roars erupted when UVM found the back of the goal and tied it up, one of the most fun things to see and hear as a fan of the team! Unfortunately the Field hockey team came out on the losing end in OT, but it was not for lack of effort and the excitement was contagious!
